Professional Summary

Jim Sematimba is the founder and managing director of JILAK – Co. Ltd (Printers and Stationers), in Bugolobi, Kampala-Uganda, (1988 to date).He is
Chairman Board of Directors Radio City Ltd/ 97.FM and Director to the Board
of AAR Health Services (U) Ltd. His company is the official representative of
ITW – Envopak Group (UK) Manufacturers of security seals and products. He is a land lord and property developer in many prime areas in Uganda.

Prior to 1988, Jim worked at the Law Development Centre, Makerere (1974-
1988) as the Head of Finance Department and a part time Lecturer of
Accounting for Lawyers/Advocates. He was Chief Accountant at Uganda MeatParkers Ltd under Uganda Development Corporation (UDC) (1973-1974). He also worked at Caltex Oil – Uganda Ltd (1971-1973) as the Assistant Chief Accountant, first worked at Mombasa and Nairobi office before joining the Kampala Head Office.

He has been participating in community service since 1988 in the following
capacities; Charter member of the Rotary Club of Kampala East, Past President,Past District Officer and a Paul Harris fellow. He is also the Chairman Development and Planning and Development Committee at St. Barnabas Church Mbuya(COU).

Work Experience

Jim holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in Accounting from
University College Nairobi (University of East Africa). He also studied at
Strathclyde University, Glasgow-Scotland (UK)in Accounting and Finance of
Developing Countries, sponsored by the British government as part of its
technical cooperation (British Council Scholarship). He worked at Glasgow City Council for 6 months after the programme.

He is a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (UK) (MAAT) anda fellow member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (UK) (FAAT).
