First-Ever Annual AAR Sales Conference

IT WAS BUSINESS UNUSUAL AT THE FIRST-EVER ANNUAL AAR SALES CONFERENCE!

The Annual AAR Insurance Sales Conference took place on Wednesday, 22nd January at the Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi under the theme “Business Unusual”. The conference attracted a big attendance from all over East Africa, presenting an opportunity for delegates to connect, collaborate and create ground-breaking opportunities. The AAR Uganda Team was led by Head of Corporate and Public Institutions, Pamon Prossy, who was also a panellist in the discussion on the resilience of SME’s at the Conference. She was joined by Sseruwagi Romeo - Business Development Manager  – Corporate & Public Institutions, Shallon Nahurira - Business Development Manager, SME & Retail, Teddy Sanyu – Business Consultant - Corporate & Public Institutions, Edna Achieng - Business Consultant - Corporate & Public Institutions, Martha Kaseke - Business Consultant - Corporate & Public Institutions, James Kamukama- Business Consultant - Corporate & Public Institutions, Joan Birungi – Agent, SME & Retail.

By bringing together delegates from across East Africa, the conference sought to explore the evolving business landscape and embrace change in today’s unique environment. James Kamau, AAR Group Head of Distribution, welcomed delegates to the first-ever AAR Insurance East Africa Sales Conference, celebrating it as a key milestone in delivering innovative insurance solutions across the region. He highlighted the vital role of intermediaries as trusted advisors and market leaders. 

AAR Kenya CEO, Justine Kosgei officially opened the Conference by calling for fresh approaches to today’s challenges. As he delivered a powerful keynote speech, he emphasized the need to rethink and redefine approaches. The CEO also unveiled insights from a study with Wylde International, highlighting gaps in SME insurance perceptions and opportunities for innovation. 

At the AAR Insurance East Africa Sales Conference, The Insurance Usage & Awareness Report 2024 by Wylde International was launched. This year’s edition of the WYLDE Industry Pulse Report titled "Insurance Usage & Awareness Report 2024," was developed in partnership with AAR Insurance. It takes an in-depth look at how small and growing businesses (SGBs) engage with insurance. This was a proud milestone for AAR as pioneers in data-driven innovation for the insurance sector. AAR Kenya’s Chief Finance Officer Hosea Kiprop spoke on the importance of financial management, encouraging delegates to embrace good money habits to secure their future.

The event, moderated by Alex Chamwada OGW from Charms Media, served as a pivotal platform to reflect on the role of SMEs in driving growth of economies and why insurance is important for the mitigation of business risks facing entrepreneurs. The conference also celebrated excellence by awarding certificates to top-performing agents for their outstanding contributions.
